The LGBT Meeting Professionals Association (LGBTMPA) has announced the creation of its advisory board. The board of experienced professionals met in Las Vegas and committed to the organization’s goals including the first annual conference; developing the organization’s education and certificate programs and launching the first bi-directional mentoring initiative in the meeting planners profession.

As Pink Banana Media's focus is on helping clients target their specific LGBT demographic online, LGBTMPA had contracted with Pink Banana Media to help bring initial awareness to its launch, as well as help it to develop a social media presence online.

The LGBT Meeting Professionals Assocation (MPA) team has been busy lately… they’ve just wrapped up a successful advisory board gathering and networking trip in Toronto, in conjunction with the IGLTA Convention there in early May 2018. Continuing on in 2018 will be additional workshops and networking events held in Philadelphia, in conjunction with the NGLCC Conference in August, as well as IMEX in Las Vegas in October.

Jim Clapes will serve as Board Chairman and James Delmar and Lexi Dinyovszky join Clapes as Executive Board Members. These experienced professionals are moving from positions on the LGBT MPA Advisory Board to the Executive Board.

Growing Organization Attracts Industry Experts - The LGBT Meeting Professionals Association (LGBT MPA) announces Alexis Dinyovszky and Richard Gray are new members of their board of directors. Dinyovszky is the President of the Board of Directors for the Southern Comfort (SoCo) Conference Organization and Gray is the Managing Director for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau. Both executives bring years of experience in the LGBT professional community.

LGBTMPA takes a moment to chat with Gary Murakami, CMP, CMM, Director of Global Sales for MGM Resorts International to get his insights and thoughts on the importance of professional involvement in industry associations and specifically, LGBTMPA. Gary is currently on the Board of Directors for Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and a member of the Convention Industry Council APEX Standards Committee. He is also actively involved in LGBT organizations including serving as Chair of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) Foundation Board of Directors and Chair for the Out & Equal San Francisco Bay Area Affiliate.
