ChiefMarketer.com spoke with Nespresso Marketing VP Jessica Padula about the brand’s approach to Gen Z targeting... "A couple of years ago we created a partnership with the Ali Forney Center, which is the largest homeless center for LGBTQ Youth... We created this beautiful, artist-designed cup to raise awareness, support and fundraising for the center. What does it have to do with coffee? It references the values and the core of how we operate as an organization, even throughout our entire value chain, including our countries of origin."

This article is written by a staff member at the Washington Blade. This article is about how Troy Masters and the Mirror Media Group finally published a newspaper for the LGBT community after trying for several years. The newspaper will be biweekly and they published their first print issue on October 9th 2015. He also said that he is going to publish 20,000 of the first issue that will also be available on its website. This is web media that is talking about a print media. This text tells a story because the LGBT community has worked a hard way to get were it is now and everyone is really happy and excited about it. In this article the point of view of the writers is shown and how happy they are to be finally publishing a whole newspaper about the LGBT community. I think that there are two target audiences that this newspaper is trying to sell too. The first audience I think that they are trying to sell to is the community of the LGBT's. I think this because obviously this is for them and their values and beliefs are finally being recognized in a positive way. They get to talk about this new newspaper with their friends and family and get excited over it.The second audience i think this is aimed at is everyone else. I think this because everyone should accept their wants and needs just as much as they respect ours. The LGBT community is getting bigger and bigger and a lot more people are accepting them now than before and I think that its a wonderful sight and accomplishment to our world. I think that the producer put the words 'Gay Pride' as the article picture because its a big dissection throughout the world right now and it would get a lot of peoples attention.
Relate:
This article has some of the six representations of gender in the media. Talking about the LGBT community, not a lot of "different" people are chosen to do commercials or modelling for big companies. By different I mean not the average white man, who is 6'2 with a six pack. While doing commercials and ads companies and agencies choose people of the white race and who look pretty. If you are 'different' you are less likely to get chosen because sadly but truthfully, they don't want people associating their product with someone that doesn't look 'normal'. Now there is a girl who made a whole modelling agency just for transgender people. She herself is transgender also. Even though we aren't talking about race in the article, I think that it can also fall under the category of "The Exotic". Many people around the world haven't met someone or known about anyone that is part of the LGBT community. This is foreign to them so they don't understand and may start to judge them. This point can really go for little children. Some grow up with a mom and a dad, the "normal" family, and don't know what it means when two women or men are together. Other kids may grow up with two dads or two moms and learn about it their whole life.
Reflect:
Even though this article may be short, it sends out a powerful message. As I read it over several times I learn something new each time. The meaning of the message of my text positively affect society. I think this because its good to accept everyone, no matter how they dress, who they like, or what they like. Everyone should be equal and that's what this newspaper is showing, LGBT equality. My values of supporting others and treating others how you want to be treated is shown in this article. What I believe in is really different from this text but I'm still happy for them and what they decide to do with themselves and their lives. I think that there are stereotypes about the LGBT community, but none are shown in this article. I think this challenges society values because a lot of people are still against it and don't agree with anything that they do. This matters because everyone should be treated equally but there are some people and groups that aren't and I think that that is really sad. Everyone should be happy and not are about what others think and live their life how they want to.
